Our Sustainability Story
At Tides of Wonder Books, we believe in nurturing both young minds and the environment. The stories we send you matter and so does the way they make their journey from our home to yours.
Mindful shipping
We take a thoughtful approach to the books we carry. To reduce environmental print waste, we operate a low waste inventory model. Our featured monthly collection ships right away, while our broader catalog is ordered on-demand, just for your family. We believe in growing with intention rather than ordering more than we need to help minimize excess inventory and overprinting.
Eco-conscious packaging
We aim to package every order using recycled and fully recyclable materials whenever possible. What surrounds your next read can head straight into the recycling bin rather than the landfill.
Our sustainability goals
- A lean, low-waste inventory. Prioritize ordering on-demand so fewer books are printed and pulped unnecessarily.
- Mindful packaging. Make recycled and recyclable materials a consistent part of every order.
- Human creativity. Use human created artwork and imagery in our original designs and sourcing our books from reputable publishers. Choosing human imagination and creativity over AI-generated content is part of our commitment to the environment.
- Sustainable indie bookselling. Grow thoughtfully, with our values are the center, so caring for the planet stays part of every order.
Why it matters to us
Books are heirlooms, not disposables. We believe caring for the world and animals we love to wonder about goes hand in hand with how we order and ship your books. Thank you for supporting independent bookselling and joining us in caring for our environment.
